On the other hand, eating wrong food (meaning: food that is not healthy for your skin and in most cases for your health as well) will negatively affect your skin.
It will often times produce problems like leather-like skin, dark circles under the eyes and lack of rosy color in your cheeks in your skin. Having such skin problems is therefore very annoying, unpleasant and even embarrassing.
As you can see, healthy diet should be your first concern when you want to improve bad skin complexion. Without healthy diet, your skin is not able to improve itself.
But what exactly is healthy diet? That is a good question! But it is also a question that is hard to answer in solely one article such as this one.
First Step Towards Improved Skin Complexion: Drink Enough Water!
Actually, there is one advice I want to share with you today. It will help you make a first step (very important one!) in improving your diet. As an effect your bad skin complexion will improve too!
So the secret first step to your improved skin complexion is: Drink at least 3 pints (little less than 2 litres) of water every day! Just by drinking 3 pints or more water every day, you will see some great improvement in your problematic skin complexion!

In order to improve your complexion, eliminate the following food out of your diet:
- foods like broiled lobsters and deviled crabs,
- foods like tartar sauce,
- foods like pies,
- drinks that contain caffeine such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate,
- alcohol drinks,
- foods that contain lots of salt,
- processed meats and other junk food.
The above mentioned foods are not healthy for your skin and will make your skin complexion look bad. Most of these foods are also not good for your overall health and should be avoided as much as possible.
Eating processed meat and junk food for instance dries out the skin. Further on, dry skin causes premature aging skin and (as mentioned) bad skin complexion.
By controling what you eat, you also control how good looking your skin complexion is. Avoid eating the foods named above and see how your bad skin transform itself into glowing and clear skin complexion that will make you feel beautiful and confident!

It’s sunscreen! Sunscreen is your number one anti aging skin product you can use, you can be sure of that. Choose a sunscreen with an SPF rating of at least 15 (use a sunscreen with a higher rating if you plan to be in the sun for a longer period of time). Also, be sure that you use a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects your skin from damage from UVA and UVB rays. Finally, be sure that your sunscreen is water resistant even if you are not planning on swimming –- your sweat alone undo the protection of non-water resistance sunscreens. All the ointments, moisturizers and creams in the world can’t compare to the anti aging effectiveness of ordinary sunscreen.
Beauty Gone Green Offers great sunscreens like SkinCeuticals Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50. Its great for everyday anti aging protection. A groundbreaking first-to-market mattifying fluid with transparent finish, this paraben-free, all-physical filter sunscreen provides increased protection in an ultra-sheer texture for all skin types, even very sensitive. The unique ‘shake then apply’ action assures even distribution of active ingredients in this silky sheer fluid that dries quickly and leaves no residue

Specially designed to fight this stress, Vital Defense Crème helps the skin to remain youthful; the skin is oxygenated, stress-free, glowing. *Free radicals play a major role in tissue balance. Here are the last 5 golden rules to achieve the perfected self tanning. If you follow the all the rules you will avoid be a Oompa Loompa. Here’s to the best and safeties way to get a dark tan! Check back for the last 5 golden rules of self tanning.
-
Make sure you don’t rub in your self tanner. Gentle smoothing is all you need, and then you can let the product do its work. Rubbing may make the finish uneven.
- Try to avoid washing your hands for as long as possible in the development time – a minimum of 2 hours. Try a hand sanitizer or wipes instead.
- Your tan won’t get deeper the longer you leave it – once it’s been on for the required amount of time (check the packaging) it will have given you the natural-looking golden color you’re after. For a deeper tan you should re-apply on successive days – 2 – 3 days in a row will give you a really deep, rich bronze tan.
- When you’ve applied your tan wear loose, dark clothing and avoid tight-fitting underwear. Anything that’s pressing on the skin may make the results a bit patchy.
- The hands and face will fade quicker than the rest of the body so you may have to be more conscious about your self-tanning upkeep for these areas.

Here are the first 5 golden rules to achieve the perfected self tanning. If you follow the rules you will avoid be a Oompa Loompa. Here’s to the best and safeties way to get a dark tan! Check back for the last 5 golden rules of self tanning.
- If you’re a self-tanning junkie, make sure you exfoliate regularly to avoid build up as several layers of tan can result in an uneven result.
- If you’re waxing or shaving before tanning, make sure you do so more than 24 hours before your tan.
- When you’re tanning give yourself a good all-over polish and apply plenty of moisturizer the night before to get your skin as silky as possible. The most common cause of a patchy tan is dry skin, so it’s crucial to moisturize problem areas (wrists and hands, elbows, knees, ankles and feet) immediately prior to self tan application.
- Keep palms tan-free – try using latex gloves or our applicator mitt when applying, then simply sweep the backs of the hands with self tan diluted with moisturizer.
- When you’re applying your tan, make sure you’re covered all over. Don’t worry if you go over the same area twice – the tan will only be patchy if you miss a bit, not if you double up.

Many times, when clients come in for a facial and we get to talking about some of their skin issues, the discussion turns to things like the dark circles under their eyes or trouble with blemishes. Some have issues with ruddy skin, and others are bothered by a sallow complexion. Often, these clients also have visibly dehydrated skin. So I ask them about their water intake and a typical response is, “Oh, I don’t like drinking water.” Or, “Yeah I’m bad about that.”
Drinking water is truly one of the best things you can do for your skin. Get and stay hydrated. It keeps skin plump and moist. If you’re dehydrated, your body will take the water it needs for vital organs like your brain and your heart from your skin (a less vital organ), leaving it looking less than its best. We may think that good looking skin is vital, but in a hydration crisis, our body just doesn’t get it and those other organs are going to get the water they need. Drinking water also helps flush out toxins and helps our digestive system move things along. The faster those toxins can leave your system, the less time they have to interfere with your skin’s health. Water is truly key.
If you’re suffering from some of these same skin issues, and aren’t already drinking approximately 8 glasses of water a day, try it, and see if your situation improves. There are, of course, other reasons that people develop these kinds of problems, and they can be addressed with proper treatment, but upping your water intake to make sure you’re fully hydrated is a great place to start for everyone, especially as we enter the warmer months of the year.
When my clients make this simple change, they are amazed at what they see. And guess what? You will be too! You already take care of your skin. But you’ve got to moisturize your body from the inside. If your problem is a lack of water, there is not a topical product around that can fix that for you.

Blinc Mascara (A.K.A Kiss Me Mascara) is one of the best I’ve worked with for a few good reasons:
-
Most people that have allergies to standard mascara can use this safely.
-
It does not run, smudge or flake, so it’s ideal for brides. You can cry and not worry about your make-up running.
-
It’s never clumpy, or too heavy looking. If you want to pump it up, use the primer.
-
Last but not least, when you wash it off, it comes off easily. Just press a warm cloth to your eyes, hold for 20 seconds and gently rub. The mascara will release from your lashes in small little tubes, no raccoon eyes or blackened face cloth.
Try it, you will love it, and never go back to anything else. It’s a great make-up artist’s best kept secret. Sigrid

This has been by far, over the years, my favorite. Why? Well, because when it comes to removing your make-up, it does it all! It’s gentle to the skin, but it removes eye make-up (even stubborn mascara) in one clean sweep and also lifts and washes away make-up, dirt, and secretions. So it does 2 in 1 and it smells lovely, too, making life easy. After all, isn’t that what it’s all about? No wonder make-up artists, celebrities, and aestheticians, like myself, covet this luxurious cleanser. Best of all, it’s suitable for all skin types. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be happy to know you can share the joy with all your friends.

I have been amazed over the past few weeks at how many of my clients who have started on Bion, have cleared up their acne. This stuff produces results, and clients are happy.
As an Aesthetician, one of the most common problems and complaints I hear about is acne. No one likes to have break outs; it’s hard on the self esteem. When you find a product that performs and can resolve 90% of the acne cases you see, well, you love it. It’s all about picking the right mix of products for the type of acne you have.
It can be helpful if you can figure out when the break outs started. Did you change anything in your daily routine? Come off BCP or go on them? Did you change cleansers or make up, start using a new face cream or primer? People with all types of skin can have acne, but they’re not all going to want the same treatment. Do you have oily or sensitive skin, or do you have a lot of dryness with your acne? All these factors play into determining the best skin care routine for you. Bion is working wonders for many of my clients. It may do the same for you. It’s important to get on the right product for you and to BE COMPLIANT. Compliance is going to be key for achieving results with any skin care regimen, especially when you’re dealing with acne. But, hey, you’re worth it!
This is definitely my happy product of the week. If you’ve got questions about Bion, just ask. You can reach me at customerservice@beautygonegreen.com. Sigrid
